La Maison de la Tour

Doug and Jo warmly welcome you to their Chambre D’hôtes -‘La Maison de la Tour’. We are situated in the heart of our historic and picturesque French village - La Sauvetat Du Dropt.

Our house is one of the oldest in the village, parts date back to the 12th century. In our secluded  courtyard we have an ancient Knights’ Templar watch tower from the time when our village had a chateau with surrounding defence walls. One of the old French Kings - Henri IV is reputed to have stayed in the tower during the 16th century.

The house is frequently photographed by visitors and tourists and is printed on some postcards of the village. We are ideally located on the border of the Dordogne and Lot-et-Garonne Departments. This is perfect for exploring all these areas have to offer. Bergerac airport is only a 25 minute drive away and Bordeaux 1½ hours.
